Our Origins
Street Saviours was born from Ryan Vena’s vision of uniting people in recovery—many of whom had firsthand experience in the Downtown Eastside—to respond to the growing fentanyl crisis. The dream became reality on December 17, 2016, when our first Foot Patrol took to the streets with food, clothing, and Narcan kits.
Our Mission
Our mission is to create a strong, positive presence in the communities we serve by building relationships, offering crisis intervention—including overdose response, basic first aid, food and clothing distribution—and promoting health through harm reduction and connection.
What We Do
We fill the gaps left when services close by finding and treating overdose emergencies, often in alleys and streets. We distribute food, water, Narcan kits, and offer referrals and support. Above all, we spread love and compassion, showing up as a visible sign of safety. To date, we’ve responded to over 600 overdoses.
Volunteer With Us
Join our mission by becoming part of our dedicated team. Whether you're a healthcare worker, community member, or someone with lived experience looking to make a difference, we'd love to have you. Volunteers help with foot patrols, harm reduction outreach, and support services.
Donate
Every dollar makes a difference. Your donations help us buy Narcan kits, food, hygiene supplies, and first aid materials that directly support those in crisis. Help us save lives and spread compassion throughout the Downtown Eastside.
